Malcolm began his musical journey with the euphonium and trombone through Hillingdon Music Service before studying on the prestigious Band Course at the University of Salford, where he specialised in tuba and conducting. His passion for music education led him to train as a secondary school music teacher, and he now teaches at Simon Balle School in Hertford.
As Musical Director of Amersham Concert Brass, Malcolm creates an inclusive and supportive environment, helping musicians of all levels grow and perform together. A dedicated tuba player, he is an active member of Amersham Brass Band and performs regularly in orchestras and chamber ensembles across the South East.
With a love for high-quality music in all genres, Malcolm enjoys everything from Early Music and J.S. Bach to late Romantic orchestral works and modern Big Bands. As Musical Director of Amersham Concert Brass, Malcolm loves helping musicians of all levels grow and get better, while making music that brings our community together.
