Ash is a former Trombone player with the BBC Big Band and was also a visiting tutor at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. His professional career has spanned various styles and genres of music, including orchestral, Big Band, shows and sessions with the John Wilson Orchestra, John Dankworth Big Band, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. West end and touring shows have included 42nd Street, Chicago and Fosse to name a few.

Ash is passionate about music education and works for Berkhamsted School as lower Brass specialist and Hertfordshire Music Service, delivering whole class and individual lessons.

As Musical Director of Amersham Big Band, Amersham Youth Band and Amersham Community Brass, Ash strives to cultivate a sense of teamwork and shared achievement, ensuring that every member regardless of ability, has the opportunity to grow and contribute to the bands’ collective success.
