The band was saddened to hear of the death of Geoffrey Brand at the age of 96. One of the leading figures in the brass band movement, Geoffrey had been a resident of Amersham and generously offered his support to grass roots banding by becoming Vice President of the band in the 1990s. During that time, the band was in the Fourth Section and each year had an intense workshop with Geoffrey ahead of the Regional Contest. It was always a special pleasure at Christmas to play carols at his home in Shardeloes, where he would sometimes take the baton.
