Amersham Youth Band is aimed at young brass players up to age 18 and at a standard of Grade 5 and above. The Youth Band has rehearsals once a month on Sunday mornings. Paul Fisher and Ash Horton are the musical directors who work on repertoire to ensure that everyone can enjoy making music together whilst also learning how to improve their individual and ensemble playing.
We also support Amersham Youth Band with experienced players from our other bands to act as mentors. In addition to the monthly rehearsals, there are occasional performances to share the progress that the band is making with our local community. We also enter the Youth Band Championships, usually in March each year.
For the Summer term we will run rehearsals on 19 May, 9 June and 30 June, starting at 10am and finishing at 1pm. There will also be an open concert on Saturday 6 July at King George V Playing Fields in Amersham.
For Youth Band members, we are charging a rate of £150 per year. Existing band members in one of our other bands can get a discounted rate. If you would like to express an interest then fill in our contact-us form and we will get in touch with more information.
