We are proud to be hosting a joint concert with the fabulous AKG Big Band from Bensheim, Germany. The band has put together a programme for an afternoon of great music-making featuring its Brass Roots beginner group, Amersham Community Brass, Amersham Band and our special guests the AKG band from Amersham’s twin town in Germany. After the concert there will be a reception held at the Barn Hall Community Centre, hosted by the Freundeskreis twinning association.
Amersham Band has been a regular visitor to Bensheim for over 30 years, usually visiting in September to help celebrate the local Winzerfest wine festival. Last year the band teamed up with the AKG band to give a joint concert at Bensheim’s Parktheater and so was delighted when AKG decided to visit Amersham in return.
The joint concert is free to attend and will be held in the Amersham Memorial Gardens on Saturday 1st July from 2pm onwards.
