We did it! Thank you to everyone that supported us on our first go at crowdfunding for our new bandroom.
We won £5000 in the M & S Energy Fund Crowdfunding Campaign to help pay for a renewable energy heating solution. In a short 4-week period we raised £13,834 from 385 separate pledges. That meant that we came top of the league in the “most raised” category and won the £5000 prize together with an additional £1000 of match funding during the campaign.
Band Manager, Caroline Perkins masterminded the process to collect pledges from band members, family and friends, and used social media to attract pledges from the crowd at large. She said ” This is a brilliant result from our first attempt at crowdfunding and our thanks go to all those who donated to our project. It was touch and go as to whether we would win a prize as the final pledges were arriving right up to the last few minutes before the deadline.”
The proceeds from the crowdfunding will be added to the bandroom appeal fund which has now reached over £290,000.
