We are starting up a new Youth Band which is aimed at young brass players up to age 18 and at a standard of Grade 5 and above. The Youth Band will have rehearsals once a month on Sunday mornings. Paul Fisher and Malcolm Peach will be the musical directors and they will work on repertoire to ensure that everyone can enjoy making music together whilst also learning how to improve their individual and ensemble playing. We also plan to support the Youth Band with experienced players from our main band to act as mentors . Once the band has become established, there will be occasional performances to share their progress in making music with our local community.
For the Autumn term we will run rehearsals on 19 September, 17 October, 21 November and 5 December, starting at 10am and finishing at 1pm.
For new band members, we are charging a rate of £60 per person for the autumn term (ie £15 per rehearsal). Existing band members can get a discounted rate. If you would like to express an interest then click the button below to fill in the registration form and we will get in touch.
