Amersham Band and Amersham Community Brass held an inaugural Spring Concert on Saturday 9th May. Star of the show was Mike Lovatt, an internationally recognised trumpet player who performed with both bands, playing a range of big-band, jazz and traditional styles. Mike is Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music, lead trumpet player in the John Wilson Orchestra and a sought-after London trumpet session player. Amersham Band was in great form and performed some of its latest repertoire, whilst for Amersham Community Brass this was their first fully fledged concert.
The concert was held at the new Kings Church in Amersham which is a fantastic new venue for local concerts. Band Chairman, Fred Harrison said “The Spring Concert was a new initiative for us, and was a huge success. We’ll definitely be coming back to the Kings Church for future events, so keep an eye on our events schedule.”
