Setting a stone to finish our new bandroom build

posted in: General Update | 0

A commemorative stone has been set in the brickwork of our new bandroom, to mark the completion of the construction phase. Band Chairman, Fred Harrison and Band Manager Caroline Perkins were on hand to supervise installation of the stone which is the final step before the building is handed over to the band.

Fred said “we are delighted to reach this stage, which is 5 years since we first started with our dream to own our own music facility. We have had fantastic support from the local community who supported our planning application and who have helped our fundraising efforts with many generous donations. We are now very close to being able to use the new facility to extend the benefits of group music-making across the community.

Caroline commented “We still have some fitting and finishing work to do to complete the project and we need to lay out the car park. Fortunately we have an army of volunteers from our band community who are helping with decorating and landscaping works.”

The band is still raising money for the final completion phase, so get in touch if you would like to help with fundraising, or make an online donation here.
