On 24 October a team of Amersham Band members will be running in relay around Amersham to cover a total distance of 100km. The sponsored run is to raise money for our bandroom appeal. The band plans to create a Brass Academy for individual and group tuition together with the launch of a “Brass Roots” programme for beginners, a Youth Band and a Big Band. To support this the band will set up a teaching and rehearsal facility in the town centre. To fund these plans we are trying to raise a total of £300,000 through donations, fundraising, pledges and grants.
The start, finish and staging point of the run will be at St Michaels Church, Sycamore Road and we will have a small band playing to entertain and encourage our runners. The run will start at 10 o’clock. Please come along to support us. If you can’t make it then perhaps you would consider an online donation via local giving.
