Countess Howe becomes band President

The band is delighted to announce that Countess Howe has been appointed as our new President.

Countess Howe lives locally and has a music and teaching background.  She holds a range of community governance positions including President of the Epilepsy Society, County President of St John Ambulance, Chair of Trustees of Heart of Bucks (Buckinghamshire Community Foundation) and as a trustee at numerous other charities as well as a governor at several schools having spent many years working as a teacher. Countess Howe was Buckinghamshire’s High Sheriff in 2010/11.

Also at the recent AGM, two new Vice-Presidents were appointed. Mike Lovatt who is a world renowned trumpet player and professor of trumpet at The Royal Academy of Music and The Royal College of Music. and Pauline Richards, a long term supporter of the band.

Fred Harrison, Band Chairman, said “These appointments are a fantastic addition to our set of patrons and I know that they will be able to help the band with their local, political and musical connections.”
