Inaugural Brass Roots session in our new bandroom

On 12 April our brand new bandroom hosted an inaugural teaching session. Under lockdown rules we were able to start our weekly Brass Roots teaching groups and ten young people christened the new facility with a rehearsal under the leadership of Musical Director Paul Fisher. A further group will run on Thursday and we expect to fill our capacity of 15 students per session very quickly

It has been a whole year since we stopped Brass Roots sessions due to the coronavirus pandemic. In line with the Government’s lockdown roadmap we can now offer indoor rehearsals for children only and we have carried out a detailed risk assessment to ensure we provide a COVID safe environment.

Brass Roots is our groups teaching programme for beginner and elementary players and will be led by our professional music teachers Paul Fisher and Ash Horton. It’s popular and a lot of fun so if you are interested in joining in then fill in the contact form. We can offer instruments on loan for new starters.
