Bandroom Appeal

posted in: General Update | 0

Now that we have the lease and all the permissions to build our new bandroom we are focusing on raising the funds to pay for the construction work. Our project is in five phases. The first phase is complete and we now have the funding in place to start the second phase which includes creating the access onto Rectory Hill, laying out the parking area, bringing utility services on site and preparing the ground for the building construction. Our main challenge is to raise money for the third stage and we are re-launching our fundraising programme this Autumn. We are going to be busy and our main activities include:

  • 17 October – the Local  Giving “Grow Your Tenner” campaign starts – if you donate £10 we will get an extra £10 matched funding for free.
  • 24 October – Aviva Communtiy Fund voting starts. We have a chance to get a £25,000 grant from Aviva if we can get enough people to vote for our project. Voting is over a 4 week period, so keep an eye out for how to vote when the scheme opens on 24 October.
  • 12 November – leaflet drop in Amersham. We’ll be letting Amersham residents know how they can help us to create a first class music facility right in the town centre
  • December  – Christmas Carol Blitz. We’ll be sending carol groups to local stations and other venues to bring Christmas cheer and hopefully collect some extra funds for our bandroom project.

There will be lots of publicity coming out in the next few weeks, but you can also help right away by making a donation via Local Giving on-line.
