Oddfellows and Foresters’ Fete and Flower Show

This annual event took place on Thursday in a meadow kindly lent for the occasion by Captain T H T Drake. The weather was delightfully fine and warm, and consequently there was a large attendance of the public. The Chesham Brass Band under the conductorship of Mr J Palmer) arrived in the town just before one o’clock and marched in procession to the Market square. Here they were joined by the Amersham Brass Band (conducted by Mr G Ward), and led a procession of the adult and juvenile members of the local Oddfellows and Foresters’ Lodge to the show ground.
