We understand that the Amersham Band, which was reformed at a public meeting held a short time ago, is about to commence playing on the streets, after a series of successful practices, at which some of the players have shown much promise. To assist the Band financially, Mr T W Tyrwhitt-Drake (the president) has promised to lend his valuable help to a concert, in aid of the funds, which is to be given on Oct 28, in the Town hall. In addition to a committer elected from outside , with Mr R H Rushforth as chairman, the Band has the service of the late conductor, Mr W Victory, late of Tring Band, as deputy conductor, Mr G Ward, junior is the hon. Secretary, pro tem.
