Amersham Band is a brass band committed to high quality music making by developing and nurturing local brass players. The band provides appreciation of music together with cultural and social development for its members and entertains the local community through concerts and events.

The band has roots going back to 1845. In recent years the band has made significant progress, growing steadily in membership and in the standard of playing. The band has established an intermediate level band and a beginner group to extend opportunities to new and developing players.

As a mark of the progress being made, the band has achieved promotion to the Championship Section of the Brass Band Championships for the first time in the band’s 170 year history.

In 2020 the band completed a project to build its own rehearsal facility in the heart of the town.

Amersham Band, Amersham Concert Brass, Amersham Community Brass, the Brass Ensemble and our Quintet are available to book for all kinds of events, including concerts, fêtes, outdoor events, parties and weddings. Please use our contact form to make an enquiry.

A Community Asset

We are proud to be part of the local community in and around Amersham.

Music making within a group has many positive aspects, it is fun, reduces stress, encourages social interaction, and can inspire people to take action to change their lives. Our plans for Amersham Band will extend the accessibility of learning music throughout the local community, in particular to young people and senior citizens.

The band is a not-for-profit, volunteer based organisation, relying on its members and the local community to fund activities. Although financially self-supporting, we are dependent on grants and donations to be able to continue the long heritage of performing for the enjoyment of local people, supporting community events and connecting with local social support groups.  If you would like to support or help the band in any way, then please contact us. You may also make a charitable donation, big or small, via Local Giving
